Humans and animals are sometimes helpful to one another. This fact reveals a closer mutual understanding, which may come as a surprise to many.

Humans help 31 stranded dolphins
In the video, 31 dolphins lost their way off the coast near Rio de Janeiro.
The dolphins became stranded in the low water near the beach.
Beach-goers in bathing suits were initially stunned by what they saw, but then rushed to help the dolphins back into the ocean.

“Blue Voice” reports: “While filming dolphins in the Bahamas I spotted a large Atlantic hammerhead shark coming straight for me.
I raised my camera and started filming.
Then four young dolphins whom I knew personally shot at the hammerhead and drove it off.

Jambo the Gorilla: The Gentle Giant
Jambo the Gorilla became famous in 1986 when a five-year-old boy fell into the gorilla enclosure at the Jersey Zoo and lost consciousness.
Jambo stood guard over the boy, placing himself between the boy and the other gorillas. He later stroked the unconscious boy.

Wild elephants salute the men who rescued their baby elephant.
In Kerala, India, a baby elephant falls into a ditch and gets trapped there.
As the family of wild elephants watches and waits on the other side of the river, local people use an earthmover to help the baby get out.
Then they come running and welcome the baby, checking whether it is fine.
