Religion should always be kept out of the public space

Generally, religions are based on myths.

There are an estimated 10,000 distinct religions worldwide, though nearly all of them have regionally based, relatively small followings.

Of the major religions four—Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism—account for over 77% of the world’s population, and 92% of the world either follows one of those four religions or identifies as nonreligious, meaning that the remaining 9,000+ faiths account for only 8% of the population combined.

Many world religions are also organized religions, most definitively including the Abrahamic religions Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, while others are arguably less so, in particular folk religions, indigenous religions, and some Eastern religions. A portion of the world’s population are members of new religious movements.

Some religions have been created by men wanting to keep men in control of society.

However, religion is a personal matter and should never influence the workings of society.

Ideologies are closely related to religions as they are political belief systems. They mainly concern themselves with using influence and power to control people. The list of ideologies is very long.

All we need is The Golden Rule

Religion can guide individuals in defining good and bad behavior. However, we need only The Golden Rule “Do not do to others what you would not like done to yourselves.” If just this rule could be followed by all, the world would be a much better place as conflicts and wars would be avoided.

Living by the positive form of The Golden Rule: “Do to others what you would like them do to you” will quickly lead to one being kind, empathic, compassionate, helpful, trustworthy, considerate, reliable, and accountable to others and this will improve human relations and make societies even better.

Religious systems are counterproductive

Religions specifically “Christianity” is full of traditional rules and values to live by. Now there isn’t anything wrong with living by a certain religion as long as you are not imposing your beliefs on others.

However, to use a specific religion as a rule of law to govern a society is a seriously damaging misuse of religion. It will lead to major problems in society including confrontation between different religious groups.

The use of religious objects – in particular, religious clothing to show in the public space that you belong to “God’s chosen people” is grossly harmful and provoking to other people not believing in your religion.

The misuse of some religions to restrain women from outliving their full potential and hinder gender equality is especially harmful.

We are all a family of human beings

We should remember that we are all just human beings, having evolved jointly on this wonderful earth, which we together must take care of in all future.

Only science can give valid answers

According to the bible the world was created in a week – a rather childish and naive myth. The reality is far more fantastic: The earth is about 4.5 billion years old and life has evolved here in at least 3 billion years. The only way to obtain valid information about nature, the natural world, and life is through natural science, not religion.
